Here's what I've done so far...
Beyond Empower

I spoke to Salford-based charity 'Beyond Empower' about how they coped after lockdown.
Chetham's Library
Museums across the country were hit badly by the coronavirus pandemic, with many suffering from dropping visitor numbers and cut budgets. I went to Chetham's Library in Manchester to see how they fared.

Paul Dennett interview

Paul Dennett, Mayor of Salford, describes how Salford is helping Ukraine.
International Food Festival
Salford University held the first International Food Festival on Peel Park Campus. I went down to talk to some of the vendors and try some of the food for myself!

ReachOut; Start to End Suicide

Charity Reach Out hold a yearly vigil to remember those lost to suicide. The charity aims to help those who have lost loved ones to suicide and also aim to prevent. I went to Salford Museum and Art Gallery to see the support they offer to Salfordians.
Radio editor: 17/18th Oct 2022
I acted as radio editor on both 17th and 18th October. This involved me finding stories and sending people out on them, deciding the running order and helping the presenters write the scripts. For our second programme we ran an OB from Vibe Coffee in Broughton, something I'm very pleased with!

Changes to Salford's greenbelt

Thirty-three councillors voted against changing Salford's Green Belt policy in the latest council meeting. I came into the SalfordNow studio to discuss what is going on at Salford City Council.
Salford History Festival
We all spend our day to day in Salford, but do you realise just how interesting its history is? At the Salford History Festival I found out the story of one local artist, whose art was discovered inside his house after years of being hidden away.

Painting for the cost of living

BBC Radio Manchester broadcasted live from Salford Shopping Centre to raise awareness and give tips about the cost of living crisis. Artist Chelsea Entwhistle was there painting the whole event. I went down to have a go myself!
Showcasing working-class history
As part of their 'Engels Week celebrations, the Working Class Movement Library (WCML) held a printmaking workshop to help working class people learn more about their history.
TV producer: 28/29th November

I was the TV producer on the 28th and 29th November. This involved me creating the running order on iNEWS, sending reporters out on stories, helping generally on the lunchtime bulletin, and deciding what to ad-lib on when we ran under! On the second day, we held a live from the New Oxford pub to how people were celebrating the World Cup!
TV bulletin editor: 7/8th December
I was the TV bulletin editor on the 15/16 December. I was charged with looking after the lunchtime bulletin: I researched and chose the stories for the bulletin, sent people out to get footage, and helped in the gallery at TX.

Women In...
Pankhurst Museum
I have had the honour of developing a new TV show on QuaysTV! Me and some friends have started a new programme highlighting women in different industries, with this episode being Women In... Politics. I came into the studio to talk about the Suffragette movement and introduce the package I put together!
